Lt Commander (Retd.) Varun Kulshrestha is a distinguished legal professional and former officer of the Indian Navy. Born on March 3, 1986, he has an extensive career spanning over 15 years in public service, litigation, arbitration, contract management, and international maritime law. A graduate of B.A. LL.B (Hons) from DAVV Indore University, He later pursued an LL.M in Constitutional Law and M.A. in Public Administration. Commissioned into the Indian Navy's Judge Advocate General (JAG) cadre in 2011, he served as the Judge Advocate & Officer-in-Charge of Litigation for Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. Notably his expertise is in arbitration, contract negotiations, and high-stakes litigation the before Supreme Court and High Courts. He notably represented the government of India in arbitration cases and played a key role in maritime law and UNCLOS-related legal matters. Recognized for his contributions, he was awarded the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief’s Commendation Medal in 2015. In Public Service he has been actively associated with Various NGOs and Charitable Trusts to work in arears of Women Empowerment, Health and Education, Preservation of Art and culture, upliftment of marginal and skill development. As a guest speaker on legal and leadership topics, he also has a strong background in International law, sports, training & Education.
